awrc “Metamatic” has to be one of the essential electronic albums - you can hear the roots of so many later all-synth genres here. This deluxe edition gives you basically every thing Foxx recorded around that time, and the PDFs replicate all the nice extras that were in the boxed version, even the ARP patch cards. Favorite track: Miss Machinery.

Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) John Foxx and Tony Mansfield ("New Musik") were among the first artists, who convinced me in 1980 that the 70s and their art rock are definitely over, and nothing's gonna be the same anymore... and that this is actually a good thing! I've enjoyed "New Wave" very much until it faded away as well, and how it became yet another sophisticated art, albeit in a totally different way. Still I go for this kind of music, which has morphed into "synth wave" by now. Favorite track: Touch And Go (2014 Remastered Version).
